Before I dive into the second decade of Metroidvania Works (coming soon!), I'd like to rewind quickly back to the beginning of the 1980s and highlight a handful of games that I didn't include in the book for various reasons. Some were simply oversights, while others I left out deliberately, and still others only became relevant as the project took its final shape over the course of its development. Whatever the reason, the titles highlighted in this and next week's episodes could easily have made their way into the book, in a world where time is infinite and page count doesn't affect cover prices.
