Baseball Stars for Neo Geo Pocket adopts the title and the overall vibe of the groundbreaking NES game, even if it lacks that cartridge's depth in terms of team-building and career management. A shame, too, because the portable system's data storage-friendly media and "take it with you everywhere" companion status absolutely beg for that sort of deluxe treatment. But if you don't mind a bit of a downgrade from a decade-old console release, Baseball Stars absolutely offers the best and most playable handheld adaptation of that sport available at that time.
