Trash times in Toontown: Who Framed Roger Rabbit | NES Works 156
Youtube Video Description:
Another games from LJN? Yes. Based on a film license? Yep. Based on a Robert Zemeckis film specifically? Indeed. A Robert Zemeckis film starring Christopher Lloyd?! I don't know what to tell you... those guys had it rough in ’89.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is not as bad as Back to the Future, mind you. In another universe, where a publisher other than LJN funded the game's creation and didn't insist on getting it out the door as quickly and cheaply as possible, it might even have been... good? Rare does their best here, creating an open-world murder mystery adventure that attempts to send players on a wild adventure through Hollywood and Toontown, but the whole thing is underbaked and weirdly difficult. It's not fun, but this might be the final LJN creation for NES where you look at the resulting mess and think, "I didn't enjoy this, but you know, at least they went big."
