Parker Brothers in arms: Montezuma's Revenge & King's Quest | Segaiden 086

Youtube Video Description:

Well, folks, this is it. For a certain value of "it." In this case, "it" specifically means Parker Brothers' run as a Master System publisher. Montezuma's Revenge and King's Quest bring the company's very short time as a Sega partner to a close—not that it really seemed like Parker Brothers' heart was in it. Or maybe I'm just projecting, since Parker Brothers was a division of Tonka, the toy company that took over Master System distribution in the U.S. at the end of 1987 and proceeded to do jack-squat with it. Truth be told, the trio of titles Parker Brothers put on Master System may not have been especially earth-shaking, but they do demonstrate some actual enthusiasm for the medium and what appears to be a genuine desire to translate computer hits into something workable on a limited 8-bit console.
