PC Engine of destruction: TurboGrafx-16 | Turbo Works 01
Youtube Video Description:
And away we go for what will inevitably be a fairly brief journey into a console that deserved better. It's like Dreamcast a decade early.
In a lot of ways, this opening episode is less about the TurboGrafx-16 and more about all making a case for the U.S. console being a victim of circumstance that could have been a success on the level of its highly popular Japanese version, if only things had been different. Actually, that's probably going to be the central theme of all of Turbo Works. I'm not sure what that alternate timeline would have looked like, but I'd love to have lived there. It sounds nice.
Anyway, Turbo Works will now run parallel to NES and Genesis (and I guess Super NES) coverage. Please look forward to it. All the pieces are on the table for the 16-bit console wars! (Well, except Neo Geo, I guess. Wish me luck with my numbers in the next PowerBall drawing; maybe I can win and finally afford the SNK full-set.)
